Anyone understand what this means?
https://www.braums.com/a2-milk/
I bought a couple items from their retail store area, and the paper bag was advertising this. The items I bought were both A2 items. The calcium content on the milk was higher than I typically get.
Nothing advertising this A2 thing on the fast food side.

Re: Braums- A2 Milk
I think there must still be other regional dairy brands that have herds and processing facilities who could do a similar program?
...or after years and years of corporate purchases of smaller regional dairy farms, maybe not?

Re: Braums- A2 Milk
Only ones in the northern Midwest I can think of are Quality Dairy in Lansing, MI (they have their own processing facility for fluid milk and ice cream, but I doubt they have their own herd). Maybe Kwik Trip in Wisconsin/Iowa (though they may only have ice cream/butter).
Back in the day the "resident herds" were a much better deal--in Chicago, Hawthorn Mellody out in LIbertyville was a thing, and in St. Louis Four Winds Farm (which Schnucks snapped up....I vaguely remember a trip there maybe when I was 4 or 5 years old)

Re: Braums- A2 Milk
Whole Foods and Sprouts and other health food stores have been selling A2 milk for many years. They say that for many who get indigestion from regular milk they won't have that problem with A2 milk.
I haven't seen it mentioned much in fast food or restaurants.

Re: Braums- A2 Milk
As I recall the A2 I've seen at Sprouts and Whole Foods is ultra pasteurized milk. That is ironic as it is suspected that ultra pasteurized milk is more difficult to digest than pasteurized milk... the industry generally says otherwise. I suggest personal sampling to draw conclusions. Needless to say I try to stay away from ultra pasteurized milk. Everyone's results may vary.ClownLoach wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2024, 10:26 pm Whole Foods and Sprouts and other health food stores have been selling A2 milk for many years. Braum's is selling this in their store in gallons, half gallons. Just their standard milk. It isn't some "specialty" item there. All of their yogurt and cottage cheese has this A2 on the packages too.
