Tried out the new pork based al pastor. While I didn't hate it, the way it is sliced/served is definitely less well put together than the usual chunk style from most taco trucks regionally. (I don't know, do other places slice it off the doner kebab roaster into strips?)
I appreciated the addition of another fresh ingredient, pineapple. It went well with the cilantro and onions, though the corn tortillas were torn from being improperly filled and folded fast.
It's interesting to see Del Taco trying to expand more into the "taqueria" footprint, but I suppose with the current prices of ground beef, any less beef is a positive. (and a wall against rising poultry prices if bird flu gets worse)
The location I visited is open 7 am to midnight or 1 am (not 24/7) but was very clean and has the latest, greatest Del Taco paint job on the building (white with sun decor).
